About the Role
What’s in it for you?
This role will take on project responsibilities from the Deputy Finance Director and Senior Finance Analyst who will both be on parental leave and assist with some other key deliverables. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with both the Finance Director and Commercial Finance Director, gaining exposure across the whole range of Octopus products and the Corporate Group.
In addition to working across Finance, the successful individual will also work with key stakeholders across the business through the commercial analysis elements of the role.
The role will suit someone who is adaptable and thrives in a dynamic environment, able to work autonomously and build relationships quickly.
This role will be on a fixed term contract (FTC) to start ASAP until end of December 2025.
The Team:
This role sits within the Finance Centre of Expertise who are responsible for financial control, reporting, structuring and commercial analysis across the Octopus Group and Octopus-managed Funds.
Spanning across the entire suite of products and sectors, including Real Estate, Ventures, Sustainable Infrastructure, Energy and Smaller Companies, the Finance Team are involved in a wide variety of activities across the Group.
What will you be doing?
- Lead project to assess all finance systems, presenting recommendations for finance transformation plan to the Finance Director.
- Review process and controls over investments into and loans with Group companies, recommending improvements to be made, including tracking metrics and introducing regular review meetings.
- Oversee Finance elements of Octopus Group share schemes, working closely with the Share Plan Lead to ensure complete and accurate data, and best practice execution and reporting.
- Assist with opening and setting up reporting from new Spanish office.
- Assist with fund set up and launches, including any commercial modelling (as required).
- Assisting with Quarterly Reforecast process and Octopus Investments month end processes; including monitoring of key cashflow items.
- Oversee monitoring and reporting of one of more key business project(s).
- Assist the Finance Director and Commercial Finance Director as required.
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll have:
✅ Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with reasonable post-qualification experience in the Financial Services sector.
✅ Experience working in Fund Management would be advantageous.
✅ Experience of managing multiple stakeholder relationships, including influencing senior stakeholders.
✅ Exceptional attention to detail and able to deliver accuracy in a high-pressure environment.
✅ Flexible and willing to adapt to changing team requirements.
