Currently responsible for 60 + different items of technology, there is a huge variety in a role as Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Octopus. We’re constantly critiquing our current tech and looking to enhance and upgrade where appropriate. Every day is different and there are many projects in flight across other parts of the business which require our input and support.

Starting as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, your focus would be getting to grips with our current tech, supporting a wide range of teams and stakeholders, some of which are in Australia! Over time you may grow into a Senior Engineer, with an increasing project workload. Lots of options in an experienced team that will support your career journey and aspirations!  At the same time, we want to be clear that this is not a DevOps Engineer opportunity – that is a separate team at Octopus.

Part of a wider, agile Technology function, the infrastructure team is a fun and passionate group of five highly dedicated, skilled engineers. This is an experienced team that invests in cross-training and learning together. The goal is to continuously maintain & improve Octopus’ IT solutions, systems and infrastructure (both cloud and on-premises).

About the Role

What will you be doing?

  • Daily maintenance and support of all production & non-production infrastructure and connectivity, including responding to alerts in & out of hours (where appropriate)
  • Provide ad-hoc specialist support for small projects/access/information requests
  • Constant evaluation of production infrastructure and solutions to ensure ‘fit for purpose’
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adapting to agile business requirements

Qualifications

Ideally, you’ll have

✅ Previous Cloud & On-Premises Infrastructure Support experience in an Enterprise environment, including knowledge of virtualization and associated technologies
✅ In-depth knowledge of Azure (Express Route, vWAN, HUB, vNet, NSG’s, IaaS, PaaS, IAM)
✅ In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Windows Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
✅Good understanding of Exchange & M365 hybrid environments
✅ Basic SQL DBA experience would be advantageous
✅ BigFix patch management software experience would be a nice to have
