About the Role

What’s in it for you?

This is a newly created and exciting opportunity that is key to the future success of the team. This role will give you the opportunity to create and build the Investor Relations function and strategy. You'll be responsible for providing exceptional client support and delivering a first-class experience for Octopus institutional investors.

You'll own and lead the creation and operationalisation of the investor relations function for Octopus’ institutional investors. At its core the role is about excellent client services, and brings in elements of investment knowledge, reporting, client retention, and business strategy.

You’ll be working with Distribution, Investment, and Finance teams to create, oversee and manage the institutional client experience, along with the operations and administration of onboarding a client. You’ll understand institutional client expectations, be able to deliver a seamless client experience, keep abreast of industry and market trends, and deliver at speed.

The team:

The Global Institutional Distribution team sits centrally within Octopus Investments and works across each of the Octopus institutional investment teams: Ventures; Real Estate; and Sustainable Infrastructure. The team is responsible for both building new and supporting existing institutional client relationships in helping to support the Octopus mission to invest in the people, the ideas and the industries that will change the world. This role will report directly to the Head of Institutional.

What will you be doing?

  • Coordinate the institutional investor customer experience and act as a dedicated central point of contact for existing clients, including handling all client requests and queries, and reporting.
  • Ensure investor reporting is consistent, thorough, and proactive across Octopus Investments, liaising with different teams as necessary to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness.
  • Coordinate and oversee administration of mandates, including contracts, reporting documents and cycles, drawdown notices, and cash management.
  • Coordinate and oversee onboarding of institutional investors (including AML, KYC, and capital calls).

Qualifications

Ideally, you’ll have:

✅Previous institutional investor relations experience, ideally at a medium to large institutional fund manager.
✅Deep knowledge and experience of institutional client service requirements across channel and region.
✅Experience with seeking out and implementing improvements across multiple stakeholders.
✅Hands on experience onboarding new clients.
✅Proven ability to solve complex client queries, escalate issues and collaborate with internal stakeholders.

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick every box. What’s the worst that can happen?

This role will evolve as we grow and develop. So, if you are looking for a challenge in a fast paced and dynamic business, we can deliver on that.
