This is an advisory role where you will play a key part in interpreting the rules and presenting them to the business with a range of options, this is about providing the full breadth of options not just black and white answers!
The team:
This role will specifically be supporting the Institutional side of the business, whilst being a part of a Compliance team of 10 who provide advisory and monitoring support to the various business areas.
In addition, you will sit within the wider Risk & Compliance function of around 40 who are a very visible and central business unit that operates more commercially and collaboratively than in many other regulated organisations.
What will you be doing?
Providing timely and accurate compliance advice to support the business, this includes on topics such as global institutional distribution and marketing, real estate and sustainable infrastructure investment, quoted investments (AIM), Octopus’ Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) and Client money and assets (CASS).
Reviewing proposed new fund and products to be set-up and contributing to the implementation of regulatory changes, as well submitting regulatory returns and raising new fund requests to the FCA and international regulators.
Helping to develop and maintain all necessary compliance policies, procedures and controls.
Conducting thematic reviews on the Institutional business to find areas for improvement; along with suggestions as to how the business controls can be improved. Submit regulatory returns and raise new fund requests to the FCA and international regulators .
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll have:
✅ Experience providing compliance advisory within an investment management company.
✅ In depth experience of distribution and marketing regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
✅ Experience of AIFMD fund registration and Annex IV reporting
✅ A solutions focused attitude with the ability to make decisions where there may be elements of ambiguity.
