Octopus Renewables, the specialist clean energy investor arm of Octopus Group, has announced the appointment of Partha Vasudev, an offshore wind energy specialist. Partha has joined the London-based team as Investment Director.
Partha’s deep expertise in offshore wind adds to a number of hires in recent years with experience in this field. In his role, Partha will lead the development and implementation of Octopus’ offshore wind investment strategy.
Over the last decade, Octopus Renewables has grown to become the largest commercial solar energy investor in Europe, as well as a leading UK investor in onshore wind, managing more than £3 billion in renewable energy assets.
Partha has over 12 years’ experience in the renewable energy investment sector. Most recently he spent three years at Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG), where he was responsible for fundraising, investing and managing GIG’s £1.1 billion Offshore Wind Fund. Prior to Macquarie, Partha held roles at various organisations including Goldman Sachs, Hudson Clean Energy Partners, Centrica, and Oliver Wyman, where he started his career.
He holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, where he graduated with honours, as well as a Masters in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
