In 2015, Giles Humphreys joined forces with childhood friend Myles Hopper to launch the healthy recipe box company Mindful Chef. Today, it’s rated on Trustpilot as the UK’s favourite recipe subscription service, and counts Andy Murray and Victoria Pendleton as two of its high-profile investors.
In the latest Humans of Business interview, Giles tells Charlotte Pearce about the challenges Mindful Chef faced in the early days, and his determination to make his business a force for good. He also discusses what it means to be a successful entrepreneur, the secrets of good leadership, and the importance of giving people autonomy to make their own decisions.
Giles also talks openly about how his personal values have helped shaped the business, and explains how Mindful Chef is having a huge positive impact by donating hundreds of thousands of school meals to children who are living in poverty.
In Giles’s own words: “I’m an entrepreneur because I want to make a difference”.
