Debbie Mahanta joins Octopus Investments as Strategic Partnerships Manager

5 Aug 2021

Debbie Mahanta has joined Octopus Investments, the UK’s leading specialist tax efficient investor, as a Strategic Partnerships Manager.

In her role, she will develop relationships with private banks and large wealth managers to help them unlock the potential of tax efficient solutions in their ongoing investment and intergenerational planning.

Debbie has over 20 years’ financial services experience in wealth and financial planning as well as business development roles for SJPP, UBS, Guinness Asset Management and, most recently, Vala Capital. She is an active committee member of STEP City of London branch and the EIS Association’s Membership and Events Committee.

Debbie Mahanta said:

“I am delighted to join Octopus Investments and can’t wait to get started. Octopus has been a market leader in the tax efficient space for many years now and the need for these kind of planning solutions continues to grow, so I’m expecting to be very busy.”

Steve Skelding, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Octopus Investments, added:

“More than ever before, private banks and wealth managers are thinking about intergenerational planning, as the great wealth transfer gathers pace, while increased pension restrictions are also encouraging more high-net-worth clients to consider VCTs and EIS.

“Debbie brings a huge amount of experience from over two decades working in this space and will be a brilliant addition to the team.”

Octopus Investments is the largest provider of VCTs, EIS and BPR-qualifying investments and an active investor in UK smaller companies.
