Octopus Real Estate, part of Octopus Group and a leading UK specialist real estate investor, has been named as the Lender of the Year at the EG Awards 2019.
Octopus Real Estate offers simple, flexible and bespoke property loans that have resulted in £1.46bn of lending across 2,500 loans within the last year alone – a 38% increase on the previous period.
Landmark deals within the last 12 months have included a £29.5m refinancing facility for a 3.7-acre site near London’s Clapham Common with planning for 297 homes, 46,000 sq ft of offices and 12,000 sq ft of industrial; a £36m loan for a 502-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Coventry, Warwickshire and a £31.5m refinance of a mixed-use development in south west London.
Octopus Real Estate is one of the UK’s most active non-bank specialist property investors, lending across residential bridging and buy-to-let, commercial bridging, term and the development sectors.
The EG judges commented that Octopus “is thinking about speed and flexibility and demonstrated a broad spread of loans”.
