Octopus Investments launches Estate Planning Show

17 Apr 2020

The Estate Planning Show is a new online version of its flagship Octopus Live event series

Octopus Investments has opened registrations for a new online version of its popular ‘OctopusLive’ events. The Estate Planning Show is a two-part online TV series offering financial advisers and paraplanners the chance to gain practical insights from experts on inheritance tax and estate planning. It is also CPD qualifying.

The first episode will focus on the IHT landscape and the opportunity it presents for advisers, as well as how to identify those who could benefit from a conversation on estate planning. The second will get ‘under the bonnet’ and look in more detail at how BPR-qualifying investments work and what’s involved in writing business, such as how to approach suitability.

Throughout both episodes, viewers will hear from a number of financial advisers who have embedded estate planning into their business, sharing best practice and any tips and tricks they have learned.

Both episodes are 1-hour long and will be broadcast live from a London studio on consecutive days on the 5th and 6th May – and then again on the 12th and 13th May.

The Estate Planning Show will be hosted by hosted by Sally Boyle, Area Sales Director, and Nick Bird, Executive Business Development Manager, with Jessica Franks, Head of Tax Products, and Robert Skinner, Head of the Octopus Inheritance Tax Service, also on hand to share their specialised and expert knowledge.

Octopus Live is now in its sixth year. In 2019, more than 700 advisers attended across 25 events, up and down the country, from Truro to Aberdeen.

Advisers and paraplanners who want to sign up are encouraged to go to the Octopus Investments website to register, or search for ‘Octopus Estate Planning Show’. All attendees will receive free headphones posted to them in as part of their ‘goody bag’.

Octopus Investments will be following all the appropriate social distancing guidelines throughout the production and broadcasting of Octopus Live.

Sally Boyle, Area Sales Director at Octopus Investments, said:

“We’ve always tried hard to make our event our Octopus Live events engaging and genuinely useful and we wanted to maintain that tradition, even in the current circumstances. I can assure you this won’t just be yet another webinar. Think the BBC’s One Show, but better, and CPD qualifying!”

“Estate planning is a huge opportunity for advisers, but it’s not necessarily straightforward for those who are less familiar with the landscape. Our aim with Octopus Live is to break down those barriers and provide practical information that means advisers can help more of their clients in this crucial and growing area of financial planning.”
